**There have been quite a few changes in CDT over the past year and we want to keep our members up to date on trustee, staff and events.

Dear Comrie Development Trust Member,

We know it has been a while since anyone updated you on what’s been happening but, with three new board members and a new Chair since the Summer, we thought that you, as our members, really needed to know what’s going on. We are committed to updating you on a regular basis and giving you the opportunity to feed into our daily business and future developments.

Board & Staff Update**

  • Mark Temple was appointed as our Chair with Jeremy Spurway stepping down as Chair and taking up the Vice-Chair role
  • Three new Board members joined – Andrea Loudon, Fiona Blacke and Adrienne Scott
  • Farewell to Trustee Chris Palmer who has made an amazing contribution over the past 17yrs to the community of Comrie. We are very pleased to say that Chris continues to support us and a number of other community organisations.
  • We now have 4 part-time staff positions equivalent to 2 full time posts: Seona Anderson (Administration), Olena Mazna (Finance Officer), Les Atack (Estates Maintenance Manager), Marc (Unc) McConnell (Maintenance Supervisor)

Current Developments

  • Tenders have been submitted to develop a conservation management plan for Cultybraggan
  • The Sound Lab in Hut 64 is hoping to access grant funding to improve facilities
  • CDT is responding to the current consultation on the Comrie Community Action Plan

Future Developments

  • Revamp of CDT website and communication networks
  • We hope to provide cafe facilities & we will keep members updated
  • A green skills community hub in the Allotment huts 106 &107
  • Ongoing discussions about the path from Comrie to the camp

**Events **

  • Camp Museum re-opens 11th April
  • Strathearn Marathon 8th June
  • Scottish Scything Festival 19th and 20th July
  • More events will be added to this year’s calendar and we’re keen that other events and festivals take advantage of the facilities at Cultybraggan

We have attached to this update a summary of current usage of the Cultybraggan site.

Finally, as the Community Action Plan reaches its conclusion the CDT board is preparing to respond to the developments and issues that will be identified by our community. Members have a key role to assist the Trust board in making a robust and meaningful response. This might mean changing our priorities and focus. So it will be crucial that our members are involved.
