From CDT to community · 2016–2019
The Steinmeyer Legacy
Heinrich Steinmeyer was a German prisoner of war at Cultybraggan during the Second World War. He later returned to Comrie and left his estate for the benefit of older people in the village. CDT received the money into a restricted account in July 2016.
In March 2019 the community voted to elect an independent Legacy Committee, transferring full stewardship to the community itself. The committee makes grants to local organisations benefiting older people in Comrie. CDT played no further operational role after that date.
